eBook - How to Make a Good Living Writing and Selling eBooks

eBook - Looking for a way to make a good living right from the comfort of your home? Don't want to spend forty hours a week building your business? Consider becoming an e*book marketer. You can make a very good living writing specialty e*books and selling them. Here's how:

Step #1 Find a specialty niche. The more specialized your information, the more potential for profits. For example, there are literally thousands of books on dogs but how many books are there on how to take a vacation with your dog? Probably not nearly as many.

Begin finding your specialty niche by listing the topics you're interested in and/or knowledgeable about.

Make a list. When thinking about your topics, also keep in the back of your mind that the most profitable books are books that solve people's problems. They're "how to" books.

Step #2 Research demand. While there may not be many books on taking a vacation with your dog, that may be because nobody cares.

In order for a book to be profitable, it has to have some demand. Use keyword research tools to determine demand for your potential book topics.

When you find a few that have good demand, move onto step #3.

Step #3 Research Supply. Ideally there will be a little supply but not a ton. Some competition means there's a viable market out there. Research your competition to find out what they're offering and how you can differentiate your book.

Step #4 Write your book. There's a myth that it takes a long time to write a book when in actuality it really only needs to take a week. Ten days tops. Create a book plan, research your book and then sit down and write it. With a plan or book template in place, all you really need to do is fill in the blanks.

Step #5 Sell it on ClickBank. ClickBank makes it easy to profit from a book. All you need to do is create a two page website with a sales letter on one page and a thank you message on the other. ClickBank takes care of selling your book and paying affiliates who sell your book, and your profits go right into your bank account. Leaving you plenty of time to focus on your next project.

Of course, you can create a larger scale website and sell your ebook yourself too.

Step #6 Write your sales letter. When you write your sales letter, highlight the benefits your book offers.

Tell people what they have to gain from your book and what problem it solves.

Use the AIDA approach: Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. Create a strong headline, a compelling first paragraph and cultivate a desire for your book in the body of the letter.

Close with a strong call to action. (You can also outsource the sales letter writing process to an expert.)

Step #7 Market your ebook for more sales and profits. Social networking, PPC, advertising and content marketing are all ways to drive traffic to your website and boost your profits.

Writing and selling ebooks is a wonderful business model. Once your book is written, the remainder of the business is automated. You are then free to focus on other pursuits or to write your next ebook.
